Vermont House Approves Global Warming "Solutions" Act
The Vermont House of Representatives approved the Global Warming “Solutions” Act by a vote of 102 to 45 (two House members were absent).
Energize Vermont opposed this bill because it is bad climate policy, bad environmental policy, and fiscally irresponsible.
Governor Scott has three options: he could sign the bill into law, he could let the bill become law without his signature, or he could veto the bill.
If Governor Scott were to veto the bill, the Legislature could schedule a “veto session” and vote to uphold or override the veto. It appears that the bill has enough support so that a veto would be overridden and the bill would become law.
