Over 100 Vermonters packed into a small community room Monday night in Grafton to discuss the proposed Iberdrola wind project slated for the nearby ridgeline. The meeting included a presentation by Ben Luce and a panel of Vermonters with first hand experience living near the Lowell wind project.

This week thirty-two neighbors of the Lowell wind project reported being impacted by “horrendous”  and “unbearable” noise while 15 of the 21 turbines were operating. Some described the noise “like a jet engine that never took off” and others reported being awoken from their beds in the middle of the night.

We’re helping to organize the Rally to Protect Vermont’s Mountains on October 12th at 11AM on the State House Lawn. We’ll award a Certificate of Public Harm to the Shumlin Administration, The Public Service Board, and The Department of Public Service for their support of utility-scale wind on our mountains.
