Wind energy has been pitched as the answer to Vermont’s renewable energy needs as Vermont Yankee is retired. Five years ago, 90 percent of Vermonters, including me, supported wind development on mountaintops.
Story reposted here from VPR. (Host) The Supervisor of the Green Mountain National Forest says she’ll decide this summer whether to approve the first major wind development on National Forest land.
The Green Mountain Notional Forest sent out a press release today indicating they will be extending the time period for public comment on the Deerfield wind project’s SDEIS. Members of the public will now have until March 4th, 2011 to submit their comments. Full release below.
