Thank you Tom for this. I am a Lowell resident. It has been discouraging and sad to see this smooth talk and now enormous blasting and destruction in my town. I believe the developer tells lies and that the town is poor and small with about 500 voters. People voted to get money. The developer dangled about $1000 a year for ten years, off each household's taxes. Many citizens argued against the project but we were out spent by financially energized and salaried developers. I thought it was amazing that 114 townspeople voted against this project. Some local families and many "transplants" who know a thing or two about bad development smelled a rat but the call of "Its renewable, global warming and by the way I get $10,000" was hard to beat. Hostility to "transplants" may have played a role, and desperate poverty. I now think people will do anything for money, not just poor people. We should realize that one of the good things about Vermont is that THERE IS A LOT OF IT LEFT.

PS It is incredible that your propery is 188 feet from a proposed 459 foot tower septic laws would never allow that. Call the Secretary of state? Maybe the Governor thinks we should suffer, his part of the state suffered with Vermont Yankee all these years, we have to stop this. And I vote Democrat.

Thank you Jack Brooks. Well said. I live in Lowell and I am one of the 114 people who voted against the towers. I agree with what you say, I think if we delay this project for a few more months it wont be built in time for subsidies to apply, and we can win. I am glad some people from Eden are getting involved. I think it is amazing and impressive that 114 people here voted to NOT get $1000 a year in tax relief per household i(which $ would never really have happened in my opinion ) The whole state drags its trash to Coventry, we have a big prison, the former asbestos mine is a mess, we have to stop the powers that be from dumping on the still somewhat intact NORTHEAST KINGDOM! I suppose Vermont Yankee is worse, but we as a state need to be much more vigilant about developer's money -making schemes. We don't need such schemes. Solar on peoples roofs is such encouraging news: .local, affordable and green although I understand manufacture of the panels is not green.Conservation is one of our best options as well. no downside. Dont trash Vermont! This wind project will disrupt nature and turn the town into a slum. The Gaz Metro people will take money to the bank.
