Rutland Herald: Two more solar projects planned for city

Two undeveloped land parcels will add more than 3 megawatts to Rutland’s solar capacity under projects proposed by a Boston-based developer.

NextSun is looking to install a solar farm in an empty lot on Park Street and another in a space off North Main Street behind Dollar General and The Wood Carte. The company also plans to open an office in Rutland in the near future, according to president Jacob Laskin

“We’re excited about coming,” Laskin said Wednesday. “I actually went to high school up there for a semester and I like coming up to Vermont a lot.”

Laskin said the company plans developments across Vermont.
