Rutland Herald: Rutland Town to take stand against solar

In response to a sudden influx of solar project proposals, Rutland Town has decided to amend the town plan with a new regulation for large solar panels. 

With input from the town attorney, an amendment was prepared Oct. 2 after a joint meeting of the Select Board and Planning Commission.

Bill Matteson, chairman of the Planning Commission, said the preliminary document has been in the works for some time and will help set guidelines for those looking to pursue solar projects.
