We are very excited to be sponsoring Steven Strong’s visit and presentation to Green Mountain College in Poultney. He will be giving a presentation called, “Renewable Energy: Building the Bridge to the Post-Petroleum World.” Admission is free, and all are encouraged to attend.

When: October 13th, 2011

WhereThe Gorge, Withey Hall, Green Mountain College, Poultney, VT

About Steven Strong:

At the time of the first oil embargo, Steven Strong was working on the Alaskan pipeline project as an engineering consultant. In his role there, he determined that there were easier and better ways to deliver the comforts and conveniences of electricity other than “going to the ends of the earth to extract the last drop of fossil fuel”.

Steven returned to Boston with a bit of money and a great deal of conviction and founded Solar Design Associates (SDA), a company dedicated to creating energy-efficient buildings powered by renewable energy. Over the past thirty years, Steven Strong and and his associates at SDA have become not only respected leaders in the design and development of renewable energy systems but also tireless worldwide advocates for responsible use of the earth’s resources.

In his presentation, Steven will weaves technology, politics and social policy together with humor and compelling graphics to clearly demonstrate that the end of the era of cheap oil is upon us and that renewable energy is ready here and now to help define the path to a sustainable energy future in the post-petroleum world.
