Northeast Kingdom Legislators To Join With VEC Members In Saying “Vote No” on Transmission Line Upgrade Project

On Tuesday, a group of legislators from the Northeast Kingdom will gather with VEC members and community leaders to express their opposition to the proposed VEC Transmission Line Upgrade project. At the event, the groups will also release a new advertisement highlighting the legislators’ opposition.

Northeast Kingdom Representatives Vicki Strong, Sam Young, Lynn Batchelor, Michael Marcotte, Duncan Kilmartin, Bob Lewis and Senator Bobby Starr are listed in the ad, which will appear in several local newspapers.

The legislators along with other community leaders will encourage VEC members to vote “No” on the upcoming ballot and express their support for Vermont-scale energy alternatives, including conservation, efficiency, and community and residential solar.

Scheduled speakers at the event include Rep. Vicki Strong, Bob Booth, owner of Bob’s Quick Stop, and Lukas Snelling, Director of Energize Vermont.
