More GMP Eminent Domain Letters Surface, Offers $650 for Easement

Additional Green Mountain Power letters to land owners have surfaced indicating that they plan to use eminent domain to secure easements for the transmission line upgrade that would go from the Lowell, VT wind project to the Jay substation. The latest letter indicates they are offering a one time payment of $652 for the easement. During testimony last week GMP’s project manager Charles Pughe suggested they had approxmiately 75% of the easments secured. He also said that without the transmission line and substation upgrade the project may not be able to be built. Latest letter below, click to enlarge:
